King Canute watches over Children’s author at
book signing
Children’s action and adventure writer, Louise Dale, will be joined by King Canute as she signs her latest title, Millennium Spies at WH Smith’s Victoria Centre store, Saturday 7 August from 12.30pm.
This, the third title in the successful Time Trigger series, sees travellers Alice and Robert on their most dangerous quest yet. King Canute, the Viking warrior is a key character and villain in the story. Says Louise, “I wanted to bring the story to life for the readers. Having ‘Canute’ at the signing will help to do that.”
Dressed in authentic costume, King Canute will be in-character, and quoting from his scenes in Millennium Spies. He will be asking WH Smith store shoppers if they have seen his fellow time travellers, or know of his quest. And for any child brave enough, he’ll be happy to pose for a photo or two!
Louise continues, “I’m keen to portray history to children as accurately as I can, but hopefully in a way that’s fun and interesting. The plot in this story is my richest yet with my two lead characters, Alice and Robert meeting Vikings, Saxons and Normans as they continue their adventures.”
Readers will be able to meeting Louise and purchase signed copies of Millennium Spies from 1.30pm, Saturday 7 August. Also for sale will be her two previous titles: The Curse of Rocamadour and The Keys of Rome.
