Louise Dale qualified as a doctor and has also studied art and philosophy. She has a passion for story telling and encouraging children to read. Louise now divides her time between medicine, writing and visiting schools and libraries. She is married with two children and lives in Nottinghamshire.
One of the strengths of The Time Trigger Series is that Louise meticulously researches the historical and geographical content of her children's novels, travelling to locations for first hand knowledge. She has recently travelled to America to research her next book. She also likes to get lots of direction from children themselves, especially at signing sessions and her schools workshops, ensuring that she writes to her readers' prescription of what they want to read. She has said that the Time Trigger formula is developed much like developing treatment for her patients, during a consultation process!
Louise has received much acclaim for her books from readers all over the UK. Her third book, Millenium Spies, was nominated for the 2005 Lincolnshire Young Peoples Book Awards. She also has fans in Europe, New Zealand, Canada and America! She has been very touched by some of the correspondence from readers, parents, teachers and grandparents.
Louise has a busy year ahead with bookings for festivals, library tours and schools work. She has also been invited to collaborate with Lincolnshire County Council's exciting "End of Story" initiative, to be concluded next spring with a presentation by Lord McIntosh. She has recently judged a short story competition for a local newspaper, with Time trigger prizes, and Dragonheart plans to sponsor more of these around the country.
With the forthcoming publication of her newest book, Royal Pirates, Louise will be busy with booksignings around the country.
She is also a busy mum and loves to watch her children in plays and swimming lessons and the family has developed a passion for narrow boat holidays.
